It’s gameday for San Jose State. Times are great for Spartan football. Brent Brennan passed on the Arizona job. Nick Starkel is coming back next season. Mountain West champs. Slightly lame the reward for a special season is a game against a MAC foe, but whatever. Click the link above to see how Athlon expects this game to pan out.
Sportico dropped this article about underlying troubles at San Jose State, noting that the athletic department is, “... caught up in financial distress, workplace tumult, bitter staff departures, athlete complaints, and resurfaced allegations that the athletic department turned a blind eye to repeated acts of sexual misconduct by its top athletics trainer. As Sportico has learned, the Spartans have also drawn the attention of the Department of Justice, whose Civil Rights Division has spent months probing the school’s handling of Title IX complaints.” Rather serious accusations. I’m not a fan of highlighting negative news, but this had to be shared.
