It’s Monday and we are back at it after another MWC weekend of football. Check out our links below and our original content coming this week.
Nevada not thrilled with latest win.
The Wolf Pack are 4-0 for the first time since the Kaepernick era, just set a record for 6 consecutive games with 300+ passing yards, and were upset with this past win. It was one they could have lost, with the defense having to step up big time late in the fourth quarterback. But they did it and that’s what matters. The offense improved from the first half to the second but they were far from satisfied.
Aztecs run all over Rainbow Warriors.
Hawaii continues their inconsistent ways and San Diego State’s running game was way too much for the defense to stop. Greg Bell has emerged as the lead tailback, but he is flanked by Jordan Byrd and others. Not many teams are having any luck slowing down their stable of rushers.
Spartans local recruiting seeing dividends.
Here at MWCConnection, we’ve by high on the recruiting job done by San Jose State over the years. You may remember the “Shield the Bay” mindset they adopted a few seasons ago. Those local players are now in instrumental roles in the Spartan’s successful start to the season. All in all there are 45 local players on this year’s roster.
MWC MBB players make the top list.
CBS Sports ranked the top 101 men’s college basketball players for this upcoming season and the Mountain West was well represented. In total, 3 players made the list, with players from Utah State, San Diego State, Boise State.
Aggies starting QB is off the team.
Utah State starting QB Jason Shelley dismissed from team for violation of team rules. Shelley transferred to Utah State after 3 years at Utah
