Each week after the NFL has completed its slate of games (starting with Thursday night football and ending after Monday night football) this series will take a look at news and statistics surrounding former Utah State Aggies players.
Week 7
Las Vegas Raiders
Nevin Lawson saw 100% of the defensive snaps for the Raiders in a 45-20 loss to Tampa Bay in which he had six total tackles and a pass deflection. Over the past three weeks Lawson has seen a great increase in production and will look to continue that trend next week against the Browns. On the season Lawson has produced 22 total tackles and has started three games.
Seattle Seahawks
Bobby Wagner returned to action with the Seahawks after a bye week and had 11 tackles in a 37-34 loss to the Cardinals, the first time that the Seahawks have lost this season. Wagner has been productive in terms of tackling all season long, the only game he hasn’t had double digit tackles on was in week three against the Cowboys. Wagner has 63 tackles and four pass deflections this year.
Kansas City Chiefs
Darwin Thompson did not appear in a 43-16 road win at the Broncos after rushing for 17 yards on three carries against Buffalo. Thompson has rushed nine times for 49 yards this year.
New York Giants
Kyler Fackrell saw a drop off in playing time this week, from 100% of the defensive snaps to 90%, and had three tackles and a quarterback hit against the last remaining undefeated team, the Steelers. He has started four games this year and has 23 tackles, six tackles for loss, a pick six, and a fumble recovery this season.
Carolina Panthers
After seeing two snaps on offense almost two weeks ago, Larsen did not see any snaps on defense this week. Larsen also saw a reduction in special teams snaps from 24% to 19%. Larsen has played in 60 games throughout his career and has started 18 of those games.
Green Bay Packers
No statistics for Jordan Love yet.
Chicago Bears
Patrick Scales played on 7 special teams snaps in a 24-10 loss to the Rams and has not seen more than 35% of special teams snaps.
And the most productive former Aggie of the week is...
Bobby Wagner, with 11 tackles in a loss to the Cardinals. Nevin Lawson is a close second as last week was the first week that he saw 100% of the defensive snaps and had 6 tackles and a pass deflection, however 11 tackles in this case is the more productive game. Nevin Lawson will have more opportunities down the road to show what he can do.
