Nevada big favorites to win Fremont Cannon
Fresh off a thrilling win over Wyoming, the Wolf Pack will look to keep it rolling as huge favorites against rival UNLV. The Rebels snuck away with the Cannon last season winning 33-30 but both teams have started the 2020 season off in opposite directions with UNLV getting routed by SDSU 34-6 in their first game. Nevada coach Jay Norvell says “we want to get the cannon back. It’s very important to us and our program”.
ESPN cancels pre-season tournament
Due to complications with COVID-19, ESPN has called off their pre-season basketball tournament in Orlando. Boise State was slated to play national power Kansas in November.
Week 8 AP poll
Finally some MW action in the top 25. Boise State checks in at 25 and is the only team ranked from the conference. San Diego State did receive one vote and will look to build off of a dominant win over UNLV and sneak into the polls in later weeks.

San Diego State looking to host pre-season tournament
Sources: San Diego State is endeavoring to host an MTE at Viejas Arena that would feature UCLA and two other mid-major programs. Both the Aztecs and Bruins were initially headed to Orlando.
