During Tuesday’s meeting with the media, New Mexico Lobos Head Coach Danny Gonzales named Tevaka Tuioti the starter for the team’s opening game against Colorado State on October 24th.
Tuioti is a redshirt junior that has seen action in 20 games during his Lobo career, starting in 11 of those. He has amassed 2,604 yards passing with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in his career and has rushed for 504 yards and two more touchdowns.
Trae Hall will serve as backup to Tuioti for the contest against Colorado State.

It was also announced on Tuesday that the Lobos will be televised nationally this season; six will be on either Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2, and one will be on CBS Sports Network. The games on Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2 will be as followed:
October 24th @ Colorado State (Fox Sports 1)
October 31st San Jose State (Either Fox Sports 1, or Fox Sports 2)
November 14th Nevada (Either FS1 or FS2)
November 20th @ Air Force (Fox Sports 1)
November 26th @ Utah State (Fox Sports 1)
December 12th Fresno State (Either FS1 or FS2)
The lone CBS Sports Network game for UNM will be on December 5th when the Wyoming Cowboys come to Albuquerque.
