It’s Wednesday and here are some Mountain West related links to get you over the hump and into the second half of the week.
Matt Brown was intrigued by the MWC media deal announcement and wrote about it Monday. He speaks at length about Thompson’s comments saying this was the last deal that would have Boise State’s home games be negotiated separately from the other schools. He wonders what kind of friction will occur between Boise State and the rest of the MWC over the length of the deal (assuming they continue the leverage they have during that time). Also interesting is what Fox’s new relationship with the MWC means for the PAC12.
Dave Reardon, who has covered Hawaii sports as well as anyone over the years, thinks Brian Smith or Craig Stutzmann should get lots of consideration to succeed Rolo as the next Rainbow Warriors coach. He thinks they will want an offensive-minded coach and believes that hiring from within is the way to go with the program. However, the article also indicates that they could be lured to Washington State along with Rolovich.
