A big 2nd quarter propelled the Cowboys to a 23 point halftime lead as Wyoming went on to easily beat UNLV.
The Recap
Wyoming quickly went three-and-out after the opening kickoff. The Rebels took possession and put together a nice drive that UNLV finished with a field goal, taking the early lead.
Wyoming responded with a drive that Valladay finished on a 7 yard TD run.
UNLV responded on their next drive. The Rebels were aggressive early converting a 4th & 1 from their own 46 with a 54 yard TD pass. UNLV would lead after the first quarter, 10 to 7.
However, on the 2nd play of the second quarter, Chambers rushed for a 17 yard TD to give Wyoming back the lead. Rothe would miss the extra point as Wyoming was up 13 to 10.
From this point on, Wyoming never trailed again. Wyoming forced a UNLV punt and quickly extended their lead on a 56 yard TD pass to Harshman on the 3rd play of their next drive.
UNLV would again be forced to punt. Wyoming would put together a drive that ended in a field goal.
The next possession for UNLV would end quickly on an interception on the 2nd play of the drive. Logan Wilson picked off Rogers and returned the ball to the Wyoming 3. The Rebels would hold, and Wyoming would settle for another field goal.
UNLV would quickly three-and-out on their next possession. Wyoming would quickly score again. A 4-play drive finished on a 20 yard TD pass to Marcotte.
UNLV would punt one more time, and Wyoming was up at the half, 33 to 10.
The 3rd quarter was forgettable. Six punts and UNLV would turn the ball over on downs.
Early in the 4th quarter, Chambers would finish a drive with a 5 yard TD run.
UNLV would get back on the scoreboard again on their next drive. With Oblad now at QB, he ran it in for a 1 yard score.
Wyoming would recover the ensuing on-side kick. The 2nd play from scrimmage saw Swen run 44 yards for another TD. Rothe would follow by missing his 2nd PAT.
The first play for UNLV after the kickoff would be an interception returned to the Wyoming 4. Valladay would immediately run it in for a 4 yard score.
A couple of punts were exchanged before UNLV drove down the field again. Oblad would throw another interception. Wyoming took the ball and ran out the clock.
UNLV 17, Wyoming 53.

- That 2016 game was a 66-69 loss in 3 overtimes. So, Wyoming has scored 119 points in their last 2 games against UNLV.
