San Diego State (3-1, 0-1 MW) failed to come back in the fourth quarter against Utah State (2-1, 1-0 MW) by a score of 23-17.
SDSU was able to score first off of freshman kicker Matt Araiza only field goal of the game.
Utah State’s first score came from junior safety Shaq Bond as he picked off a pass from senior quarterback Ryan Agnew for 48 yards and a touchdown.
There was no slowing down for the Aggies as they scored 16 unanswered points.
It wasn't until the fourth quarter when sophomore receivers Kobe Smith and Isaiah Richardson each had touchdowns.
Unfortunately this was not enough for the Aztecs to overcome a 20 point deficit.
SDSU secondary was exposed as junior quarterback Jordan Love threw for 293 yards, even if he didn't throw a touchdown.
San Diego State offense showed up to play with 281 yards through the air and the team totaled 174 yards on the ground.
The Aztecs will need to step up their defensive play if they want to get their first win in conference play.
