September Recruiting Rankings!

NCAA Football: Florida State at Boise State Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

Recruiting news is still a bit light this week. Again, everyone was preparing for games and it was still the dead period until the weekend. This means recruiting updates were at an all-time low, with just three new offers over the past week. The Spartans had two of the three offers, so they were going to own the top spot. But then, Boise State picked up a commit Sunday night. It’s unknown at this time, but given it’s the only one of the week, the Broncos nab the cover photo. Look for visits to pick up in the weeks to come and followed shortly by new commitments. Still, we have you covered on everything that is going on. Plus, it’s a new month and that means new recruiting rankings!

2019 Cover Photo Total:

  • Air Force: 5
  • Nevada: 4
  • Colorado State: 4
  • San Jose State: 3
  • Boise State: 2
  • UNLV: 2
  • Fresno State: 1
  • Utah State: 1
  • Hawaii: 1
  • New Mexico: 1
  • Wyoming: 1

Recruiting Calendar:

From the NCAA website:

Recruits can also take official visits to college campuses, in addition to coaches being able to go out to high schools. Often, the latter part involves coaches checking out high school games to see recruits in person and often happens locally or during bye weeks.

September Recruiting Rankings:

Here are the August rankings for those who want to compare.

1. Nevada

2. Fresno State

4. Colorado State

5. Boise State

6. San Diego State

7. Air Force

8. Utah State

9. Hawaii

10. Wyoming

11. San Jose State

12. New Mexico

The top 3 remain unchanged from last month. From my perspective, spots 4 through 10 are very close together and almost interchangeable. I probably ranked Air Force too low, as their top recruits are similar in ranking to the top recruits from a few of the schools above them. As for the bottom two teams, low numbers make it hard to move up the ranking list. For fans worried about teams “slow starts” in recruiting, I would expect quite a bit of movement over the next 6 weeks or so. That means the October rankings have the potential to be pretty different than this month.

Recruiting Updates:

  • OL Tauleua Li’o Marks was offered by SDSU
  • WR Markeece Alexander was offered by SJSU
  • QB Daylin McLemore was offered by SJSU

  • Boise State picked up an unknown commit
