Game Previews:

What to Watch For:

  • Can San Jose State avoid an embarrassing home loss to an FCS team this year? If they want to make improvements in the win column, Northern Colorado would be a good place to start.
  • Will Utah State replicate last season? They have a challenging but winnable game against Wake Forest and there is a ton of hype surrounding Jordan Love. Can he get it after losing some many offensive weapons (and his offensive line) or will things be off to a rocky start?
  • Likewise, Nevada is another team in P5 opener. Similar to the Aggies above, they have a challenging but not overwhelming game against Purdue. It should be tough but Nevada took a good step forward last season. If they take another one under new QB Carson Strong, then this should be a close game.
  • Can Colorado State pick up the in-state rival win this year? If they are going to go on a revenge tour, this would be a great place to start. This opening game should tell us a lot about how the Rams will be this year.
