UNLV hopes to minimize miscues in season opener
The Rebels will enter the season with a veteran roster. Of the expected 22 starters for Saturday’s opener, 17 are Juniors and Seniors. Most of UNLV’s starters know what to expect after having been in the program for a few years. As the Rebels look to qualify for their first bowl game in 6 years, they know their veteran players will be key to a successful opener and season.
Wyoming has decided on their starting left guard
Craig Bohl has decided on his starting left guard. Eric Abojei will get the nod on the left side of the line for the Cowboys. Bohl says Eric has really “honed down his assignments” which is a big reason for the decision to make Abojei the teams starter. the 6 foot 5 360 pound lineman got 5 starts last year and should have an even bigger impact in his new starting role.
Nevada adds ASU grad transfer
Two way player John Humphrey’s has joined the Wolf Pack and hopes to be a big contributor this season. Humphrey was a 4 start recruit out of Texas and originally chose to attend Oklahoma. Humphrey has bounced around, having redshirted and transferred, going from Oklahoma to Arizona State and now finding a home with the Wolf Pack. In 2017 with the Sun Devils Humphrey caught 13 passes for 177 yards and a TD.
