We are continuing our countdown of the top players on the 2019 Boise State football team. This week, we feature a player that made an immediate impact after transferring from the junior college ranks. There are some questions regarding his durability, but if he stays healthy, he is poised for a huge 2019. Coming in at number three...

John Hightower

Hightower was a bit of an unknown coming into Boise State. His numbers at the junior college level were suspect, but he was a part of a run first offense. However, one thing was clear, Hightower had track speed and crazy athleticism. Hightower not only had over 500 yards receiving, but he also carried the ball 8 times for 163 yards. Those numbers would have been much bigger if it weren’t for some nagging injuries. Big things are expected for the speedy wide receiver this season, but he needs to stay healthy and eligible. He was forced to sit out of the bowl game that never happened because of some academic issues.

Will Hightower have an all-conference season in 2019? Or will he get caught up in a deep wide receiver group?

Let’s take a look at the countdown to this point.

#15: John Ojukwu

#14: David Moa

#13: Avery Williams
