Wyoming’s Cooper Rothe racking up preseason All-America honors

Yes, it’s still preseason honors from magazines season. The Sporting News has named Wyoming kicker Cooper Rothe second-team All-American. The finalist for the Lou Groza Award figures to have a big 2019 season ahead.

Weaver Named Sporting News Preseason All-American

Rothe wasn’t the only Mountain West player to make the list. In fact, four Mountain West football players made Sporting News All-American list. Next up is Boise State defensive end Curtis Weaver. Weaver’s a decent bet to be preseason Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year.

Utah State’s Savon Scarver Named Sporting News Preseason All-American

Next up on the list is Utah State’s Savon Scarver, who made second-team All-American as a special teams returner. The Aggies lose a lot at the skill positions going into 2019, so Scarver figures to be carrying a heavy load this fall.

Ryan Stonehouse made the All-American list too, but the link on CSU’s website was broken as of the typing of this post :(
