IT’S KICKOFF WEEK! Mountain West Media Days takes place this week and thus it serves as the unofficial start of football season, at least at far as we are concerned. That means we have a TON of original content coming your way both this week and leading up until the first MWC game on August 24th. After you read the links for today, check out what’s coming your way this week.

The Mountain West bball tourney staying in Vegas.

This is great news for the conference as they announced a three year extension to keep the men’s and women’s conference tourneys in Las Vegas. Yes, it’s a home tourney for UNLV, but it also gives the conference a presence in a major market and city. They’ll be back at it in March.

New UNLV facility has big hopes.

Now that pro sports has finally found it’s way into Las Vegas, things are happening. And UNLV, which has had roots in the city for decades, is hoping to reap the benefits. Coach Sanchez has done a tremendous job raising money for the new football facilities and the hope is that they glean the popularity of the pro teams in the city and become nationally known. Time will tell.
