Ranking Boise State’s Top Players: Number 8

Can this speedy receiver take the next step?

NCAA Football: Utah State at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

We are continuing our countdown of the top players on the 2019 Boise State football team. This week, we feature a player who emerged as a reliable target on third and fourth down and an occasional deep threat. Coming in at number 8...

CT Thomas

Thomas emerged as a dependable, number three receiver last year. He proved to have steady hands, as he was Rypien’s most reliable target on third and fourth down. Thomas will have plenty to prove in 2019 with the departure of AJ Richardson and Sean Modster. Can he be a number one receiver? He will also have to compete for playing time with a talented receiving corp. Octavius Evans will be returning from a nagging injury that kept him from playing the majority of his sophomore season, and Stefan Cobbs received a ton of buzz in the spring.

Thomas finished the 2018 season with 41 catches for 535 yards. Will he be the next 1,000 yard receiver for the Broncos? Or will he get lost in a talented receiving group?

Let’s take a look at the countdown to this point.

#15: John Ojukwu

#14: David Moa

#13: Avery Williams

#12: Zeke Noa

#11: Kekoa Nawahine

What do you think? Where would you place these players? Stay tuned next week for a look at number seven.
