The Phil Steele links day.

NCAA Football: Georgia State at Air Force Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Phil Steele teased out his all-MWC preseason teams last week in preparation for the upcoming release of his annual magazine. Today’s links will be devoted to highlighting his efforts.

Utah State has all-americans and all-MWC.

Star Aggies Savon Scarver and David Woodward were named All-Americans as a returner and linebacker respectively. In addition, he also put 12 players on to the all-MWC teams, notably QB Jordan Love, CB DJ Williams, and K Dominik Eberle.

Wolf Pack put 8 on preseason team.

Nevada is still getting respect for their productive season last year, as Steele is recognizing eight of their returning players in his conference teams. Even with some star power graduating, OL Jake Nelson, RB Toa Taua still lead an impressive group. Plus, there are promising sophomores Dom Peterson and Romeo Doubs.

Boise State all over Steele’s teams.

OL Ezra Cleveland, who could be a big name come draft day next year, makes the 4th All-American team and the 1st in the MWC, along with five other Broncos (notably WR John Hightower and Edge Curtis Weaver). Phil puts 14 total Boise State players on his four MWC teams.

Fresno State has double digit selections.

The three Bulldogs on the first team should come as no surprise in TE Jared Rice, DB Juju Hughes and LB Mykal Walker. DB Jaron Bryant, RB Ronnie Rivers, and OL Netane Muti also make the lists, as Fresno State had 10 selections overall.

Warriors have 11 on first three teams.

Hawaii’s football team has the most players on the first three teams with 11. This is a nod to their surprisingly successful season from last year and even though their schedule is tougher, the talent is still there. QB Cole McDonald, newcomer WR Melquise Stovall, OL members Solo Vaipulu and Ilm Manning, who both played as true freshman form the core of the offense.
