The dozens of offers each week is starting to pay off for Mountain West teams. The commitments were rolling in this week as Air Force, Wyoming, Nevada, San Diego State, and Hawaii picked up known commits (Hawaii picked up another commitment late last night). This to go along with around 50 offers, led by the 10 San Jose State handed out as they held a camp this weekend. However, it was Nevada who hosted four known visitors and landed a new commit this week. They take the banner and the lead in the year long rankings.

Camp Season
Here is what we wrote about satellite camps last year. It’s worth taking a look at again this year as a refresher.
Visit Recap
OL Brandon Hernandez (Boise State)
“Well for one the coaches and staff were extremely welcoming which was awesome the place felt like home it felt like what I wanted it to feel like. The facilities were absolutely amazing and standing on that field was electrifying even without the Boise fans. I spent some time talking with Markel Reed and DK Blaylock and they told me honestly what they though about the program and it was all great things they had to say. Me and my parents sat with Coach Harsin for a while and wow it was awesome. I love the connection and bond that I have with Coach Bedell we share many similarities. Darren Uscher and Samuel Miller were also a huge part of this amazing visit. Harsin talked about what Boise is really about and the way they do things and that I would be a great fit for the program. We talked about our families and our blue collar backgrounds which meant a lot. When we met with Bedell, we talked about the depth chart and where I would be if and when I go to Boise. We watched a lot of film and talked about the football aspect and the not football aspect. Coach Bedell has always been one of my favorite coaches since the day I met him. I love the way him and I connect on a personal level. I love that he’s a family man and I can go to him to talk about anything, literally anything which feels great. I met his wife and kid which meant a lot. He reminds me a lot of my dad who is a huge inspiration for me. I’ve known him for a while now and all the players I talked to and met with were all awesome!”
RB Clarence Dalton (Nevada)
“Everything it was amazing. The coaches really showed the love, it stood out to me, and so did the the way they and the players push each other. I was able to talk to the coaches about everything from football to life, the things I love to do, and the plays I like to run. As a running back, my best traits are my stiff arm and my ability to make the first two people miss.”
Commitment Spotlight
RJ Taylor (Nevada)
“Well the biggest reason why I committed was the coaching staff. The staff was amazing and their resumes were incredible. The coaches were very personal which I liked a lot, It honestly just felt like home. I didn’t feel at home at the other visits I went on. I fell in love with Nevada. The staff got to know me as myself not RJ Taylor the football player which I really liked. I told them my hobbies were fishing and off-roading and almost every coach could have an hour long conversation about either one of those things with me which I really enjoyed. They also spent time trying to get to know me and not just talk about football which really stood out to me. They really like me at left guard because I can pull very well but they also love me at center because i’m nasty. Right now just left guard. But I’m versatile, I’ve played every spot on the o-line and played d-end, 3 tech, nose tackle and even a bit of linebacker.”
DE Cameron Smith (Wyoming)
“I’ve had the chance to visit a lot of campuses over the last couple years. Wyoming just feels like home, not to mention the the facilities are some of the nicest I’ve seen. Over the past couple years I feel like I’ve built a great relationship with Coach Cooper and have met with Coach Bohl twice and felt like there was a really good fit. He is always straight forward and direct which I appreciate. I feel there is a high level of trust because of that. I like his intensity and attention to details that I observed while visiting during Spring practices. Another big attraction was the smaller class sizes which I think will benefit me academically. They really like me at defensive end because of my pass rush ability off the edge. One thing I have really been working on is my hip flexibility. With the recruiting process out of the way now, I am just really looking forward to my Senior year at Legend.”
