Featured Recruit
QB Tyler Beverett
- 6’3” 201 lbs
- Saguaro HS (Arizona)
- MWC offers: New Mexico (hearing from Boise State, SDSU, and Wyoming)
MWCConnection: As a player, what do you feel are your biggest strengths?
Beverett: My strengths are my ability to read the field and put the ball to the right receiver accurately. Also, good pocket presence as well as escapability/quickness.
MWCConnection: On the flip side, what are the areas of your game you are working to improve upon before next year?
Beverett: I’m really working on fine-tuning my footwork to improve the position of my load leg in order to optimize power as well as tighten my motion and to improve my release time. I have good power and my ball gets there quick, but there is plenty of room to get better.
MWCConnection: Do you have plans to visit any schools this spring?
Beverett: I just visited Boise State last Friday. It was great to meet the staff and players. Their offense has a lot of similarities to what i currently run. That is a school and community that is really behind their football program. I am excited to meet Coach Dailey from NM this Monday. Sounds like he is bringing an exciting new offense to NM. San Diego State will be visiting Saguaro again this week. I will be working on travel plans to visit all those schools in May or June.
MWCConnection: What do you like about each of the MWC teams you have offers from?
Beverett: First, I love MWC brand of football. All 4 programs (1 offer, 3 in contact with) have offenses that fit my skill set and have coaches with a strong history of developing QBs.
