NCAA Football: New Mexico Bowl-North Texas vs Utah State Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Boise State’s basketball arena to be renamed ExtraMile Arena

Taco Bell Arena that doesn’t serve actual Taco Bell is no more. Boise State announced a 15-year, $8.4 million deal for the naming rights to its basketball arena. ExtraMile doesn’t exist yet, but it will sometime this summer. An extra $550,000 annually certainly won’t hurt Boise State’s cause.

College Football Playoff 2019: Prediction for every semifinal, bowl game

It’s officially college football magazine season, so you can expect to see quite a few of these bowl projections. Sporting News appears to be predicting Fresno State to win the Mountain West, placing them in the Vegas Bowl against UCLA. Boise State plays Florida International in New Mexico, among other picks. Slight surprise to see Hawaii excluded.

Projected Field of 64 (5/22/19)

Speaking of projections, Baseball America is giving their best guess for the NCAA Tournament, which will begin next week. The Mountain West tournament will start today. Baseball America has Fresno State playing in the Los Angeles regional as a 2-seed. No other Mountain West inclusions, so I’m guessing Baseball America is projecting the Bulldogs to win the conference title too.

Wyoming is comfortable with Garza a decade removed from NCAA penalty

Cowboys have hired Willie Mack Garza as safeties coach. Another Craig Bohl hire with North Dakota State connections. This one, however, does come with some dated baggage. Garza got into a bit of trouble while at USC for major recruiting violations. Pokes could use another strong recruiter on staff, and I’m sure Bohl has made it clear things need to be done appropriately this time around.
