Hump day links for you!
Athlon Sports releases all-MWC teams.
We are now entering the pre-season conference team part of the off-season (with some watch list stuff sprinkled in). Athlon has four MWC teams and Boise State, Fresno State, and Utah State lead the way. That’s little surprise as they were the top teams in the 2018 season. They had 17, 13, and 12 selections respectively.
Rebels Otzelberger gleaned from Hoiberg.
Fred Hoiberg made an unconventional move when he started at Iowa State, promoting a leftover assistant. That man was TJ Ozelberger, who is now set to take over at UNLV. He was mentored and empowered which set him up for success. Can it continue in 2019?
Mountain West launches a summit.
The MWC unveiled one of a kind news for the second week in a row. This week was the first of its kind summit between football coaches and officials. Sounds like it was well-received by the attendees.
Last week, the Mountain West hosted the football coaches and officials for a first-of-its-kind officiating summit. @JKurtz_MWN takes us inside the meeting and shows us why the coaches and referees believe it was an overwhelming success. #MWFB pic.twitter.com/Y4ZaiQqW9L
