ShotTracker Partners with Mountain West to Provide Instant Basketball Tracking and Analytics Data During Games and Practices

The Mountain West has partnered with ShotTracker, a sensor-based system that tracks statistics and analytics to teams and fans. This tech was tested out during the 2018-2019 season, and apparently was successful enough to become a feature going forward. Future stuff!

CSU softball will open NCAA tournament vs. Auburn on Friday in 4-team regional at Arizona

In Mountain West softball news that was not shocking, the Mountain West softball champion Colorado State Rams will open the NCAA Tournament vs. Auburn in Arizona. The Rams earned the automatic bid for the Mountain West, with Boise State shockingly joining them as an at-large despite finishing tied for 5th in conference (RPI is a big deal). Both teams will begin their sprint to Oklahoma City on Friday.

It’s not the off-season without more scheduling news. Fresno State pulls off what all Mountain West football programs should be attempting: scheduling games against decent, but beatable Power 5 opponents. 2023 is several years off, but it’s always nice to see these types of games materialize.

The Mountain West baseball regular season is coming to a close, and Nevada baseball can do nothing but watch and hope. Fresno State and San Diego State are strong bets to play in the Mountain West Tournament, set to occur in Reno from May 23-26.
