Diamond Dogs take their hot conference play into the rankings

After a couple of years that left Mike Batesole and company on shaky ground around Fresno, they’ve turned in a strong season that has even landed the Diamond Dogs in the polls! They entered the Baseball America poll this week at 25th in the country, as we come down the home stretch of the regular season. They’re one win, or an SDSU loss away from locking up the 1 seed in the conference tournament, and look good for the NCAA baseball tournament later this month. This is the first time Fresno State has been ranked this season, and places them as the 4th team in California behind No.1 UCLA, No.3 Stanford, and No.12 UCSB. If the Bulldogs win the regular season title, it will be their first since 2016, as they look for their first CWS appearance since that magical 2008 run.
