MWC Recruiting Roundup 4-1-19

April team recruiting rankings to go along with new offers.

NCAA Football: Utah State at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

Another week progressing down the recruiting trail. Teams continued to host visitors for Junior Days and quite a few were busy with giving offers to aspiring recruits.

  • Boise State: 1
  • San Jose State: 1
  • Nevada: 1
  • Fresno State: 1

April MWCConnection 2020 Team Recruiting Rankings

  1. Fresno State
  2. Hawaii
  3. Air Force
  4. -12. Everyone else

Nothing has changed from the past month, as no new recruits have entered the Mountain West. I would expect that to change a bit by May, but not really start to pick up until June. I believe I said this last year, but even though we will do rankings the first Monday of every month, don’t start taking them seriously until July or August.

Featured Recruit

TE Matt Lowe

  • 6’5” 220 lbs
  • Serrano HS (CA)
  • MWC offers: San Jose State, UNLV, Fresno State

MWCConnection: As a player, what do you feel are your biggest strengths?

Lowe: My strengths are my speed and my height.

MWCConnection: On the flip side, what are the areas of your game you are working to improve upon before next year?

Lowe: I need to work on route running and areas of blocking.

MWCConnection: Do you have plans to visit any schools this spring?

Lowe: I have San Jose State, UNLV, and Fresno State. And I’m talking to Sacramento, UC Davis, Baylor, Eastern Washington, Nevada, Yale, Cal, SMU, and Boise State. My first visit was San Jose and that was last week. I plan to visit Fresno and UNLV this spring.

MWCConnection: What do you like about each of the MWC teams you have offers from?

Lowe: I like the coaches, city and area for all three of them.
