UNLV names T.J. Otzelberger basketball coach

After firing Marvin Menzies, the UNLV basketball program has replaced him with South Dakota State’s T.J. Otzelberger. Otzelberger (I’m already not enjoying having to type that out) spent three seasons with the Jackrabbits, where he made two trips to the NCAA Tournament. The reaction from Rebels fans hasn’t been overly positive, many feeling that Otzelberger has a resume similar to the coach that was just let go. Time will tell if this was the correct move or not.

Wyoming football evaluating who’s next at safety

Laramie is slowly defrosting (kind of, probably not) which means spring football has begun for the Cowboys as they look to bounce back from a down-and-up season that resulted in being snubbed for a bowl game. The quarterback battle between Sean Chambers and Tyler Vander Waal will catch eyeballs, but the battle to replace star safeties Andrew Wingard and Marcus Epps isn’t too far behind them.

Former Utah State Football Players Perform Well at Pro Day

Utah State football had its pro day on Wednesday, and a bunch of big-named former players participated. The list of players included would leave one thinking Jordan Love and David Woodward are the only star Aggies returning in 2019. Former wide receiver Aaren Vaughns ran a 4.43! Check out how the other Aggies aspiring to play in the NFL performed.

Boise State’s newest Broncos fire up spring football camp

Now for the feel good story of the day. The Broncos added two special names to their roster on Wednesday: St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital patients Will Gomersall and Quentin Robert. Both were made honorary Broncos for the day. Check out the Idaho Statesman’s neat video of the special occasion.
