Nevada and Utah State can earn money for MWC with tournament wins
Each game played by a team in the NCAA tournament earns the team’s respective conference $280,300 per year for 6 years from the NCAA. With Nevada and Utah State set to participate in the tournament, they’ll have the chance to make the MWC some money if they win games. Mountain West teams have participated in 21 tournament games since 2013. The money is distributed evenly among all conference teams.

Wyoming looking for answers after disappointing season
After winning 44 games in the previous 2 seasons, the Cowboys had their worst season since the 1970’s. Athletic Director Tom Burman showed support for the third-year coach Allen Edwards, but he said they must show improvement next season
AAC upgrades TV deal with ESPN
The AAC has signed a new TV deal with ESPN that will give the conference $1B, $6.94M per school, for its media rights. The pay is significantly higher than the $1.1M that each Mountain West school makes from its TV deal. The MWC’s deal ends after the 2019-2020 school year, and they’re currently exploring future options.
