MWC Recruiting Roundup 3-11-19

Offers abound, plus starting to go more in-depth with some 2020 recruits.

NCAA Football: SERVPRO First Responder Bowl-Boston College vs Boise State Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

This week in the recruiting world of the Mountain West Conference did not produce many commits. However, it did see 10 of the 12 teams hand out offers to new recruits. Fresno State accounted for 8 of those new offers, but they were edged out this week by Boise State, who gave offers out to 11 recruits. Thus the Broncos capture the cover photo this week. Plus, take a look at our featured recruit for this week.

2019 Cover Photo Total:

  • San Jose State: 1
  • Boise State: 1

Featured Recruit: Kamron Forest

  • 5’11 172lbs
  • Cajon HS (California)
  • MWC offers: Nevada, San Jose State, and Utah State

MWCConnection: As a player, what do you feel are your biggest strengths?

Forest: I think my strengths are: my play recognition, my physicality, a great ability to break on the ball. And overall my technique.

MWCConnection: On the flip side, what are the areas of your game you are working to improve upon before next year?

Forest: I’m working on my strength, my footwork, as well as locating and attacking the ball in coverage.

MWCConnection: Do you have plans to visit any schools this spring?

Forest: Yes I’m attending Junior Day @ SJSU this month. Also I’ll be taking an unofficial visit to Utah State in early Summer & I I’ll be attending a Nevada camp when that rolls around.

MWCConnection: What do you like about each of those teams?

Forest: What I like about Utah State is they have a great Engineering program & they are rated 205 for academics in the nation. SJSU, I love the relationship I have with Coach Williams. He’s really been challenging and helping me on & off the field. Nevada will always be special as they were the first school that had a real interest in me. They also have a high graduation % for their athletes.

Also, Forest and his team won an Adidas 7v7 tournament this weekend.
