This Boise State basketball season has felt a lot like the movie Groundhog Day. Every game has felt the same. The Broncos play great for a while, but the result is ultimately the same. It was no different on Wednesday night in Fresno. The Broncos suffered a heartbreaking 65-63 loss the day before Valentine’s Day.
It was a sloppy game Wednesday, neither team wanted to take control. With a minute to go and the Broncos clinging to a two point lead, it looked like they were finally going to get the signature victory they had been searching for all season. It was a back and forth contest throughout, both teams seized momentum throughout the contest but could not take complete control. A late three point play by Nate Grimes gave the Bulldogs a one point lead. Alex Hobbs had a good look at the basket late in the game, but could not connect.
Braxton Huggins led the Bulldogs with 26 points. Alex Hobbs led the charge for the Broncos with 18 points and was the only scorer in double figures for Boise State.
