Tuesday links are here!

NCAA Basketball: Nevada at Colorado State Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

New Tuesday new articles. As always we have a new AP poll and another player of the week. This week we also have a new coaching hire for Wyoming football and some off court news from Wyoming basketball. Take a look!

Week 15 AP poll

As always theres a new AP poll out. Week 15 has Nevada falling one spot to number 7 despite continuing to not lose. Nevada is going to rely heavily on other top teams to lose rather than finding quality in conference wins in order to climb in the rankings. Tennessee continues to hold the top spot. Nevada is still the only Mountain West team to receive votes.

Wyoming finds their linebackers coach

Craig Bohl has found his linebackers coach. Jay Niemann will round out the defensive coaching staff for the Cowboys. Niemann comes from his most recent coaching stint at Rutgers. Niemann fills the final spot on the defensive coaching staff after Bohl promoted safeties coach Jake Dickert to defensive coordinator. Bohl will still be looking for an offensive line coach after Klayton Adams joined the Indianapolis Colts.

UNLV freshman talk about tough transition to college ball

Bryce Hamilton and Trey Woodbury were the highlights of UNLV’s recruiting class but have come to find the college game is hard to adjust to. Both, perhaps, did not expect to see as few minutes as they have been getting but Marvin Menzies maintains faith saying when things haven’t gone their way they have kept their head up and worked through it. Hamilton is starting to see and uptick in his minutes as his three point shot is starting to fall but Hamilton also notes that the game is much faster than high school. Woodbury is still finding his footing playing double digit minutes only once the past 5 games. Both freshman will have to keep working as UNLV fights to climb back up the conference standings.

Suspended Wyoming player pleads not guilty to misdemeanor

Ny Redding is facing two counts of simple assault and one count of battery but has plead not guilty. The senior guard was suspended indefinitely in December and is continuing to deal with his legal issues off the court. The charges involve an incident from back in December. While Wyoming continues to struggle on the court Redding’s situation will be one to monitor off the court.
