Finally Friday, or in this corner of the internet it’s MWC Championship Eve. To bridge the game between now and then, see what’s coming your way today.
Lost in all the coaching and MWC award news was this big bomb. The Raiders and Rebels are in a contract dispute over the phrasing of a few words that will end up deciding where UNLV is able to play their home non-conference games next year. Stay tuned.
You hear it all the time for coaching hires, teams hire search firms. It’s one of the best gigs to get if you can. But what do they really do? Those interviewed say they never make the hire, but instead they facilitate, do research, and keep track of what coaches are interested in what jobs. But the biggest thing seems to be secrecy and less of a chance of info leaking to the public.
Chris Vannini weights looks at the bright spots of the Colorado State opening. Pros are new stadium, pretty good money, success to a point, success in recruiting. He also adds a few interesting names in here, but as has been reported, alumni Tony Alford figures to be the top candidate and there should be mutual interest as he interviewed back in 2014.
Rams getting it done in Volleyball.
Big honor for Kelati.
