Game of the Week - UNLV at Nevada
Kudos to Boise State/Colorado State for being an interesting game. Also, San Jose State came back to win a close one over their in-state rival to finish the season strong.
That said, UNLV/Nevada was a crazy game. First, I’ll talk about the positives. It was an exciting game that went into overtime. The passion was high in this in-state rivalry with the Fremont Cannon on the line. Add to that, it was Senior Day for Nevada. Beyond the usual festivities for Senior Day, we even had a proposal from the Nevada punter.
Despite all of the good from this game, this game will be talked about because of the negative implications for how things went once the game was over.
First, a Nevada player sucker-punched the UNLV QB right after the Rebels had won the game.

The sucker-punch was super dirty and that player should be kicked off the team. No place for that in college football. Of course, this turned into a brawl on the field as players rushed in afterwards in reaction. You’d expect as such. However, a Nevada fan getting involved in the action is not something you’d expect.
That is just beyond awful. That fan should NEVER be allowed back into that stadium.
Expect to see some major fallout related to these incidents as something needs to be done by the University of Nevada and the Mountain West to make an example that such behavior is not tolerated.
