NCAA Football: New Mexico Bowl-Central Michigan vs San Diego State Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Mountain West football bowl games happened this weekend. And one MWC team actually won their game. Recap the action with our links below, as well as our original content coming your way this week.

Aggies can’t handle Kent State.

Kent State has had a football program for around a 100 years and had never won a bowl game. Until this weekend anyway. Which is a great story, except that it came at the expense of beating Utah State. Jordan Love and the offense had no trouble putting up points, but the defense sure wasn’t able to much of anything.

Aztecs totally dominate in record win.

San Diego State’s defense has never been in question, but instead the question has usually been will the offense score enough points? This weekend the defense did more than their part to help with the scoring. The Aztecs forced five turnovers, which helped contribute to 48 total points in an easy victory this weekend. It was the most points scored by SDSU all season.

Broncos look lost in familiar place.

Playing in their 6th and final Vegas Bowl, where they had previously been undefeated, Boise State never really got started. They had confusing rotation at quarterback, the defense struggled to get stops on third down (and tackle in general). In their media-hyped matchup against Coach Pete, playing their former coach in his last game, this one did not live up to the hoopla.

Lobos suspend two starters.

Junior point guard JJ Caldwell and senior forward Carlton Bragg were announced to be suspended for at least their game on Sunday. Not much information is known or released at this time, including how long the suspensions will last. However, one interesting tidbit is that the suspensions are believed to not be related to one another. Both players have been vital to the success of the team’s strong start.

Aztecs stay undefeated.

Aggies knock off Florida.
