Finally Friday! Better yet, football games are back as quite a few MWC bowl games are happening this weekend!
Bohl talks about his best class ever.
Craig Bohl says this is the best class he’s had since he’s been at the helm of the Wyoming football team. Here at MWCConnection, we agree with his thoughts. Listen to him discuss it here.
Why can’t coaches talk about recruits before they sign?
Short answer: the NCAA said so and they love their silly rules.
Long answer: It’s to attempt to protect the recruits. 50 years ago it was to help not lead to a war of worlds. However, now that coaches can retweet recruits on social media, the spirit of the rule seems to have been broken.
How to do signing day while prepping for a bowl game.
Boise State coaches were planning for practice well into the midnight hour, but then awoke again before 5am, because that’s when the first recruit could sign (at 7am their time). Coaches had to juggle their time between announcing signings as well as communicate with new players while also prepare the current players for their upcoming Saturday game.
Gonzales wants to recruit local talent.
Danny Gonzales has a vision. He wants to bring the 3-3-5 defense back to New Mexico, as it was the last time he was here under Coach Long. He also wants to recruit in-state, as he himself was a local player (and a walk-on to boot). It’s only been a few days, but he is saying all the right things.
Update in Frisco:
At the Frisco Bowl presser, Gary Andersen is very upset about some reporting regarding marijuana charges against three players earlier this week. Didn’t get into details, but said he hopes some people are miserable.

He did say QB Jordan Love absolutely will play.
On the horizon:
