It’s the first Monday after the end of college football’s regular season. But things are not slowing down anytime soon. We have the MWC championship, bowl games, recruiting, coaching and player movement, as well as basketball. They aren’t all coming your way today, but there definitely is not a shortage of news. Check it out.
Boise State undefeated in the MWC for first time... ever.
Some may be surprised at that, some may not be. Either way, it happened after the 31-24 victory over Colorado State. The Broncos pulled this off with three different QBs, including a true freshman starter at one point, starting a true freshman RB the second half of the year, 5 different OL combos, and a gritty defense that’s been short on turnovers. WRs Khalil Skair and CT Thomas, plus TE Garrett Collingham all had big games in this one.
Falcons get to ten wins.
As good as the Mountain West has been this year, it will help the average on-looker to see Air Force join Boise State as another 10-win team in the conference (their first since 98). It was a big matchup against a good Wyoming team. Just like a few weeks ago against Utah State, The Falcons passed the test relatively easily. They will not be an easy matchup come their bowl game.
Cannon Game ends in overtime thriller.
It had everything you wanted in a rivalry and then a bit too much. The Rebels jumped out to a big lead early, then the Wolf Pack battled back at the end. The game went into overtime and UNLV ended up prevailing, but the action didn’t stop there. A fight broke out between the two teams in the end zone and some fans seems to be involved as well. Stay tuned on this one.
Spartans finish off their season with a cherry on top.
What’s better than quintupling your win total from last year? Doing so while beating an in-state rival and claiming the Valley Trophy. That’s exactly what San Jose State this weekend, overcoming a 14-0 early deficit and sending the seniors off in style. QB Jose Love and LB Ethan Aguayo led the way and could not have been happier to accomplish something pretty substantial after seeing their bowl hopes crumble last weekend.

MWC Coaching Rumors
The agents for Cal DC and former Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter recently toured the Fertitta Football Complex and were very impressed. They say DeRuyter is heavily interested in the #UNLVfb opening. They also represent Raiders coach Jon Gruden.
