Bowl Game of the Year Prediction - Air Force vs Washington State in the Cheez-It Bowl

First off, I have to acknowledge that the Las Vegas Bowl is a big bowl game that likely will be the choice for many others. Makes sense since Boise State is ranked and won the MWC. I was very tempted to go with this bowl for my prediction. The Chris Petersen angle to the Boise State/Washington matchup makes the game even more interesting.

That said, I went with the Cheez-It Bowl for a few reasons. First, an Air Force victory over Washington State would give the Falcons 11 wins this season, and that should be enough for Air Force to finish ranked this season. If Boise State should lose in the Las Vegas Bowl, I still think a 12-2 Broncos team finishes ranked. That means the Cheez-It Bowl likely determines whether 2 MWC teams finish in the Top 25. Second, a win over Washington State would be the 2nd win for Air Force over a PAC12 team (beat Colorado earlier in the season) this year. Such a win would further validate that this Falcons team was pretty good and give Air Force momentum going into 2020 when Kadin Remsburg (RB) and Donald Hammond III (QB) will be seniors. Lastly, I love games like this one where the teams have such different styles of play. The triple-option of Air Force versus the air raid of Washington State. It’s an interesting matchup that should make for an entertaining game.

Let us know which game you think will be the Bowl Game of the Year.
