UNLV hires Oregon’s Marcus Arroyo as its football coach

The rumors of LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and other candidates circulated, but ultimately UNLV finished the move that was reported early on. Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Mark Anderson was first to report that UNLV football has hired Oregon offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo to be its next head coach. Can Arroyo capitalize on UNLV’s new football facility and ignite this program?

Mountain West hands out suspensions to four Nevada players stemming from UNLV brawl

Rivalry weekend tends to bring out tension in stadiums across the states, but players from Nevada and UNLV took it a step too far. Suspensions were handed out to specific players, and UNR police is seeking help in finding four fans who were involved in the altercation.

Colorado State to Hire Steve Addazio as New Head Coach

Today was full of coaching news. In addition to UNLV’s hiring of Marcus Arroyo, Colorado State has selected recently fired Boston College head coach Steve Addazio to replace Mike Bobo. This is, uh, an interesting hire. Addazio has a career winning percentage of .500 and his best season ever at BC was 7-6. Interesting to say the least.

Some respect for Boise State’s Bryan Harsin
