Get ready for bowl season! All postseason games have been announced for qualified teams but as always there is always offseason news around the conference. We have an update from Reno and a new AP poll.
Week 6 AP poll
Week 6 has a new member of the MW cracking the top 25 rankings. San Diego State, after surviving a scare against San Jose State, stays undefeated and claims the number 25 spot. The Aztecs claim the #25 ranking at the expense of Utah State who fell out of the rankings after being #25 last week. Hopefully both the Aztecs and Aggies will be ranked in the near future,
Nevada and DC, Jeff Casteel part ways
Jeff Casteel’s time with the Wolf Pack is up. In his 3 seasons since inheriting the worst rushing defense in the nation Casteel’s teams improved mightily at defending the rush but struggled in the passing game. Nevada allowed over 26 points per game every season while he was coordinator. Two other assistant coaches were also let go.
Malachi Flynn makes SC top 10
ICYMI: Malachi (MAL-uh-k-eye) Flynn earned the fifth spot in last night's @SportsCenter #SCTop10 countdown with his game-winning three-pointer!
