Bowl Projections: Week 14

We are heading into out final week of the regular season and we know what teams will be bowling for the Mountain West. However, their are still some questions as to where these teams will land with seven teams being bowl eligible and the Mountain West only having five bowl tie-ins. Let’s take a looks at how our team sees things finishing up.

Zach:

Las Vegas Bowl: Boise State

Hawaii Bowl: Hawaii vs. BYU

New Mexico Bowl: Wyoming

Potato Bowl: Nevada

Arizona Bowl: San Diego State

Cheez-It Bowl: Utah State

Armed Forces Bowl: Air Force

Nothing changes on my bowl projections. I think Boise State made a statement and will likely get more consideration from the playoff committee. I think Bronco fans should be rooting for Cincinnati over Memphis and Navy over Cincinnati in the AAC Championship game.

Well, we know the teams that will/should go bowling. The only question is who plays where. I think the MWC will get the Cure Bowl (or maybe the Frisco Bowl again) rather than the Cheez-It Bowl.

Air Force deserves a better fate than the Armed Forced bowl probably, especially if they win again next week. I could see them being an attractive team for ESPN to make a trade. I went back and forth between Wyoming and Utah State for an at-large bowl, but figured the draft status of Jordan Love was a selling point. Still think Hawaii is traded into the Hawaii Bowl.

Not a lot of changes from last week’s lineup. But Utah State really disappointed me on their performance against Boise State. Boise State may not go to the Cotton Bowl, but they made a huge statement to stay alive in the Las Vegas Bowl conversations.

There are not many changes from my projections last week. The only significant change is that I moved San Diego State back to the Cheez-it Bowl and I put Wyoming in the Arizona Bowl. There are plenty of interesting games this week, even though the conference championship game is set, that will impact which bowl game these teams will go to.
