Happy Tuesday, everyone. Our conference title game is set on the gridiron but there is still noteworthy news from elsewhere in the league as well as the new AP poll and players of the week.
Week 4 AP poll
Utah State continues to hold steady at #15. The Aggies had a wild week pulling off the comeback against a tough LSU squad and then pulling away late against North Texas. San Diego State also stays undefeated and again receives 2 votes but remains unranked. For those who follow the unbeaten map of teams, below is the most recent map from the morning of November 25th.

Agnew 50% chance to play against BYU
The SDSU starting QB aggravated a calf injury against Hawaii this past weekend and is questionable for the upcoming game against BYU. Agnew did not practice on Monday and the team is going to give him the best chance to recover since enduring the injury 2 weeks ago against Fresno State. Coach Rocky Long expects a final decision about the QBs availability by Thursday.
Tony Sanchez out as UNLV head coach
UNLV has announced the firing of Tony Sanchez. The soon to be former Rebels HC posted an overall record of 19-40 in his 5 seasons including a 3-8 record this season. Sanchez never finished a season with an above .500 record and his best conference record came in 2017 when UNLV went 4-4 in conference play but 5-7 overall. The firing will take effect at the conclusion of the season.
Bob Davie and UNM part ways
New Mexico HC Bob Davie will not be returning as head coach of the Lobos. Davie took over in November of 2011 and posted a 35-63 record. Davie will coach the final game of the Lobos season, a game in which he will try to capture UNM’s first conference win of the season against a tough Utah State this upcoming weekend. Davie said he was very thankful of the opportunity he was given to coach UNM.
