This was another big weekend for Mountain West Conference recruiting. Things are heating up and likely won’t slow down until the dead period in mid-winter. Anyway, take a look at what went on this past week. Three different teams picked up multiple commitments, but one team picked up three new verbals. “It was good. Bulldog Stadium is a awesome atmosphere to see and play football. I got to see my guy cam Sutton play who’s a GZ guy we got to chat before and after the game got so talk wit the coaches a little before the game not much after. The coaches said they were excited to have me and look forward to getting me up there. They are very strong contenders to win the Mountain West Championship. The one thing that’s stands out is their traditions. Both Fresno State and San Diego State (last visit), traditions are HUGE in their programs. I will be sitting down with my parents to make a decision very soon.”
Commitment Spotlight:
TE Matt Lowe (Fresno State)
“It felt like it was the right time to commit. The brotherhood there with the Bulldogs is amazing. It’s feels like one big family! They were supper excited for me to join the family. They want me to be their go to guy for them. They see me as someone who can be their big 3rd and long guy to throw to on offense. They use their tight ends a lot. I personally like the thought of being on offense.”
ATH Elijah Wood (San Jose State)
“The biggest factors that influenced my decision were that San Jose is close to home and I they have a great upcoming coaching staff that is taking the program to new places. I also am majoring in business and San Jose has a great business program since it’s connected with the Silicon Valley. The coaches we’re ecstatic about me committing. Coach White has been on my side the whole recruiting process. When I let him know I wanted to commit his response was “I’m fired up! You’ve been at the top since I got the job”. All the other coaches sent me much love and expressed how excited they are for me to join the spartan nation. They plan to use me as a LB next year, but due to my versatility they might move me around on defensive side. You possibly might see me at a safety spot or a strong safety spot.”
