Mountain West Bowl Projections: Week 6

Week five of the college football season is behind us and conference play continues to heat up in the Mountain West. The strongest teams in the conference continued to separate themselves and there weren’t a lot of surprises this past week.

Las Vegas Bowl: Utah State

Hawaii Bowl: Hawaii

New Mexico Bowl: Fresno State

Potato Bowl: San Diego State

Arizona Bowl: Wyoming

Armed Forces Bowl: Air Force

Cotton Bowl: Boise State

I thought about putting Hawaii in Vegas, but I need to see how they do against the conference heavyweights. I’m still not completely sold on Boise State. They will have their chance to prove themselves against Hawaii and BYU in a few weeks.

Potato Bowl: San Diego State

Armed Forces Bowl: Air Force

Cotton Bowl: Boise State

Only change was flipping Hawaii and Utah State. They could easily be flipped back next week, Hawaii just looked better this week while the Aggies struggled.

No changes from last week. Same lineup. But Boise State will need to keep on winning to stay alive for the Cotton Bowl. Their last game against Air Force almost slipped their Cotton Bowl chances away.

Not a whole lot changing on my rankings. Last week, I was considering adding UNR as an 8th bowl team, but after their game against Hawaii, the Wolf Pack are definitely behind these seven teams.
