The college football season is officially halfway over and we are still three weeks away from the Playoff Poll. But we still have the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll to keep us entertained. The Mountain West was represented in both polls.
Boise State moved up to #13 in the Coaches Poll after a Texas lost and stayed firm at #14 in the AP Poll. Boise State is in a rough position currently. The teams behind them can leapfrog them with impressive wins (I guess Utah beating Oregon State is impressive) and Group of Five teams don’t get a lot of love in these polls. It is hard to see a scenario where Boise State cracks the top ten anytime in the near future. SMU, Cincinnati, and Appalachian State were also ranked this week (19, 21, 24). San Diego State received two votes in the AP Poll and 18 votes in the Coaches Poll.
