SDSU basketball’s Michael Sohikish: From washing jerseys to wearing one
This is a cool story about Aztecs guard Michael Sohikish and his long journey from graphics artist to roster player for the San Diego State basketball team. A modern day Rudy type story, if you will. Michael’s Aztecs beat New Mexico 97-77 on Tuesday night.
POTTER: Now isn’t the time to question Allen Edwards’ job status
Bad luck happens in sports. There has never been a champion in any sport that didn’t have at least a little good fortune on the way. Wyoming head coach Allen Edwards is experiencing the complete opposite of good fortune this season. Insane injuries, off-the-court issues, and more have plagued a Wyoming program that is typically at least decent on the hardwood. Davis Potter notes that despite the terrible season, it’s far too premature and unfair to bring up Edwards’ job status.
Nevada football alum Malik Reed boosting draft stock NFLPA Bowl
The NFL season hasn’t even concluded yet, and we’re in the full swing of draft season. Nevada defensive end/linebacker Malik Reed has impressed at the NFLPA Bowl this week, having talked to several teams, the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, and Jacksonville Jaguars being some of them. While Reed is viewed as a late-round/UDFA type prospect, he’s done himself a favor this week performing well.
Bills Today: NFL analyst: Josh Allen the league’s most athletic QB
After a mountain of attention and hype followed Josh Allen all the way up until his drafting by the Buffalo Bills back in April 2018, the real work began for Allen. After starting on the bench, he eventually took the starting spot away from Nathan Peterman. Allen endured injuries, interceptions, and crazy rushing stats in his rookie season. NFL analyst Brian Baldinger thinks Allen might be the most athletic quarterback in the game right now. Allen will be hoping for some help on offense come the 2019 NFL Draft as he looks to improve on his rookie season.
