CSU hoops, AP poll, MW in the NFL

NCAA Basketball: Air Force at Colorado State Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to another Tuesday edition of Mountaintop View. Conference play is in full swing so of course we have some basketball news to keep you updated on. We also have an interesting article on a MW player in the NFL Playoffs. Take a look.

Takeaways from CSU’s big win over New Mexico

Colorado State played its most complete game of the season in a dominant win over New Mexico. In this article Kevin Lytle highlights the main takeaways from the Ram’s big win. Lytle discusses how Texas Tech transfer Hyron Edwards is starting to settle in as he scored 20 points in the Ram’s win. During the game Nico Carvacho moved into 5th place on the CSU all time rebounding list. Freshman Logan Ryan also stepped up and played key minutes as Carvacho battled foul trouble.

Former Air Force TE is making an impact for the New Orleans Saints

Former Air Force TE Garrett Griffin, who was just activated from the Saints practice squad, came up big on Sunday to help the Saints beat the Eagles 20-14. Griffin made the key block that allowed RB Alvin Kamara to seal the game away for the Saints with a first down with 58 seconds left in the game. Griffin was also in the game for a Mark Ingram 36 yard run that led to a Saints FG.

Week 11 AP poll

Another week of basketball has brought no change to the top 10 teams. There was no movement in the rankings between #1 Duke and #10 Nevada. The wolf Pack come in at #10 and are still the only MW team receiving top 25 votes. Iowa, Villanova, Maryland, and Mississippi are the four new teams to jump into the week 11 AP poll.

Boise State adds mid-season transfer

Abu Kigbab has joined Boise State’s roster and is eligible to play immediately. Originally from Canada, Kigbab was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school. The only Boise State player to be ranked higher as a prep was Chandler Hutchison. Kigbab comes to Boise after playing for Oregon since the 2017-18 season. This should be a huge boost for a Bronco team that has started conference play red hot.

Nico Carvacho wins player of the week
