The Lobos Lose Their OC and Fans, Nevada Finds It’s Stride, and The Rebels Dominate Conference Play

Friday and new links?! Must be your lucky day.

Lobos’ offensive coordinator Magee leaves for Ole Miss

The Lobos are losing their offensive coordinator this off season. Calvin Magee is leaving the Lobos to join Ole Miss. Coach Bob Davie was sad to see his OC go, but understood the move and was happy for him. Magee’ wife was born in Mississippi, so this is a homecoming for his family. Entering his eight season as head coach, Bob Davie will have to look for a replacement at offensive coordinator.

2018 UNM football ticket revenue falls short

In other Lobo news, football attendance continues to be a problem for the university. Even though they set a low mark this year, they were still unable to meet their goal. In their final numbers for this past season, it shows that ticket sales were 25% lower then predicted. The number seem to just keep falling for the Lobos. They nearly earned half of the money they made in the three games they hosted against San Diego State, Boise State, and Wyoming. It hard to tell which is more disappointing, the attendance numbers or the team’s record.

Nevada’s Caleb Martin benches himself, then buries San Jose State

The Wolf Pack wasted no time bouncing back from their first loss of the season to UNM. A loss in which Nevada’ Caleb Martin played well below expectation. Due to this performance, Martin made the decision to bench himself. This was a remarkable show of character by Martin. Once he returned to the court, Martin helped lead Nevada to a dominating win over San Jose State.
