Boise State Camp Update #2

The Broncos continue to deal with the heat as they prepare for the upcoming season

As Boise State continues Fall Camp, there are still many questions in front of the Broncos. Things have been relatively quiet, but here are a few things worth noting.

  • There is some uncertainty at the running back position. Alexander Mattison will be the guy, but who can come in to spell him. Robert Mahone looked like a viable option at times last year, but will Andrew Van Buren have what it takes to be the Robin to Mattison’s Batman. Will Mattison continue the tradition of dynamic junior running backs at BSU?
  • Octavius Evans continues to look the part. He has made some great catches that have been featured during camp.
  • Garrett Larson will be the starting center for the Broncos this year, he showed a lot of growth last season as he was forced to play multiple positions on the offensive line. Larson has a new nickname and it is interesting to say the least...His teammates call him “rat.” Idaho Statesman reporter Dave Southorn wrote an excellent feature on Larson that you can read here.
