It’s the first day of August, which means football starts this month. Here are your Wednesday links:
Debunking the “BYU should return to the Mountain West” narrative
It’s a common storyline whenever there’s not much going on in the college football world, but would it actually make sense for BYU to return to the Mountain West? Matt Brown digs deeper to explain why the move would not be beneficial to BYU.
A timeline of complaining that there are too many bowl games
Apparently folks have been making the too many bowl games argument as early as the 1930s. I personally feel there are few traditions better than watching endless college football games with your family during the holidays. Sure, the games don’t really matter, but they’re fun to watch, and the players seem to enjoy them.
CSU looking to replace wide receiver talent
Colorado State has had an impressive run of wide receivers with Rashard Higgins and Michael Gallup. Now that those two stars are gone, the trio of Olabisi Johnson, Warren Jackson, and Preston Williams will have to step up and produce for a team that is still seeking a breakout season under Mike Bobo.
Unfortunate news for former Bronco standout
#Cowboys rookie WR Cedrick Wilson is believed to have torn the labrum in his shoulder in practice, sources say. The sixth rounder is undergoing more tests to determine the next course of action. Would be a blow to depth.
