Nevada MBB was the talk of the conference last week, with their top 3 players announcing they would return for their senior seasons. Their basketball team immediately becomes one of the top teams in the nation in the upcoming season. Today’s links are a compilation of Nevada sports.
Hint: Nevada was a big winner. They are mentioned among the likes of North Carolina, Gonzaga, UCLA, and others. SI goes as far to say they are on the short list of championship contenders and also mention that other than Gonzaga, no other mid-major has a higher upside.
Spoiler: It’s good. Chris Murray compiles a list of names with the 3 star returnees, now eligible transfers, other returning players, and their big 5-star recruit. They even have a walk-on who passed on some nice offers to join the team.
Back to the gridiron, and Nevada athletics is being recognized here too. Center Sean Krepsz, a senior, is one of 57 on the preseason watch list for the Rimington Trophy. This award is given to the top center in the nation. He was also a finalist last season after moving to the interior of the line.
Chris Murray is at it again. He makes a top list of all the athletes in the Nevada athletic department this past season. Of course there are some familiar and expected names. However, this list will also provide a look into some of the lesser known athletes from the non-revenue Wolf Pack sports.
We have to plug our own content, right?
