MWC Recruiting Roundup: 5-2-18

Welcome to this week’s recruiting roundup, finally. Rather than recapping just a week, this one will span 10 days. Thus, next Monday’s will cover less ground. This one though, has quite a bit of info. In particular, SJSU put tons of work in over the last period. They handed out 12 offers, hosted 5 visitors, and were out and about doing eval work. Many other teams similarly put in lot of hard work on the recruiting trail. There is also a commit interview with UNLV’s commit.

“Coach Sanchez is building the program the right way. The team is on the rise to something great and I want to be apart of that. And it’s home. It’s where I want to be. There’s a lot of local talent that isn’t recognized and he’s taking those kids and exposing their talents. Then they play big games like USC and Ohio State, showing how good these local kids are. And now we have local guys like Devonte Boyd and Mike Hughes Jr being signed to play for the NFL. I was recruited as a safety, but then after a junior day, we talked a little bit about me going to be moved to the nickel position. And I remember talking to them on the phone when I first got offered when they talked about the liking my size and athleticism after a 7v7 tournament I attended that they hosted last summer.”
