If you are a team in one of the conferences known as the Group of Five, a good chunk of your time is spent getting payouts from blue-blood schools to come to their house and lose by a plethora of points. It’s not fun, but it pays the bills. It gives the big schools an easier opportunity to win before conference play and it gives the smaller school money to boost revenue and cover expenses and makes up a large portion of their budget.
