What To Watch For
Nevada On Upset Alert?
The welcoming confines of Fort Collins have claimed many great teams over the years and Saturday night’s trip to Moby Arena could be a dangerous one for Nevada, who at the moment is the target of just about every other team in the conference. Colorado State may come into this one with a five-game losing streak in-tow, but sometimes desperate teams are the most feared ones. The Wolfpack should consider themselves on upset alert in this one.
UNLV In Need Of A Big Win
Sitting at 16-6 overall with a 5-4 mark in conference play, UNLV’s season has really been almost two different entities in itself, as the Runnin’ Rebels have had an up-and-down start to league play. Head coach Marvin Menzies’ squad has had their moments of brilliance, especially as of late, but back-to-back road trips at Boise State and Nevada could humble this team very quickly. A Saturday win at Taco Bell Arena would be huge for this team’s psyche.
Wyoming Hosts Fresno State
Potentially one of the best games of the day on Saturday, Wyoming will put their solid four-game winning streak on the line in this weekend’s clash with Fresno State in Laramie. The Cowboys, who’s recent spell of good fortune was highlighted by their 104-103 double-overtime victory over Nevada, are gradually emerging as legitimate contenders in the conference. However, Fresno State has been a program known to shake things up under Rodney Terry and Saturday’s tilt could be another example of that.
